Jubilee Soup Run meets every week with our homeless community at Teville Gate in Worthing.
The Soup Run opens on a Sunday evening from 5.30pm to 6.30pm by Teville Gate Car Park in Worthing.
We aim to share food, clothing, resources and above all friendship to those who have fallen on hard times. More specifically Jubilee Soup Run provides:
· Soup, rolls, cakes, tea and coffee
· Sleeping bags and blankets
· Essential clothing for men and women, plus shoes, coats and toiletries
· Information sharing on Housing Help for the Homeless, Medical Care, Substance Misuse Help, Debt Counselling, Accessing Benefits, plus Agencies and Church/Community Groups offering similar help
Jubilee Soup Run has volunteers from Jubilee Church and from Worthing and Adur Community.
As well as provision from Jubilee Church members; cakes have been generously provided by ‘LoRan Cake Co’
(Lyndhurst Road) and bread/rolls provided by ‘The Pantry’
bakery/café (South Farm Road).
Our help and support will often go beyond the Sunday evening, with much success in helping find accommodation, voluntary work experience and employment opportunities.
We often find once housed, some of the previously homeless like to return to the Soup Run in order to meet with friends.
Jubilee Soup Run will also refer people to other projects such as Worthing Foodbank and Re-Loved, as and when they find accommodation.
