Serving Teams
There are lots of ways to be involved in the life of the church:
Set-up:
Every Sunday the school needs to be set up for our Sunday meetings so a small dedicated group get there early to set out chairs, tables, kids meeting rooms etc. Don’t worry – you wouldn’t be on every week - but this is one of the most important jobs and doesn’t involve any public speaking. Speak to Paul Tostevin or sign up here.
Tea and Coffee:
After every Sunday meeting we serve tea and coffee to everyone and there is a team of people who make this happen. You could be part of this rota, please speak to Pete Batson or sign up here.
Welcome:
On your first Sunday at the church you should receive an excellent welcome. On your second Sunday you could be giving an excellent welcome to someone else who is new. It’s a great way to get to know people especially if you are new to the church. Just speak to someone on the welcome team and they’ll point you to Val John who oversees this team or sign up here.
Sound team:
We have a group of members who set up and operate the PA every week. If you have skills in this area please let one of the elders know and you could help us out. Speak to Steve Priest or sign up here.
Worship band:
Once you’ve been around a while and if you have musical talent and a heart for worship we have several bands who serve the church each Sunday in the morning and at other meetings which you could be involved with. If you would like to know more speak to Colin Nichols or sign up here.
Kid's Work:
Being on a Jubilee Kids team means you are a vital part of building our church community, not just in interaction with our children, but also in supporting parents and families. Don’t worry – you don’t need to be a teacher or parent (but you can be). All you need is love for Jesus, and willingness to serve him by having fun together with our children. Children need things explained in a simple way, so interacting with them will sharpen your skills in explaining what it means to be Jesus’ friend. Prepare to be challenged in your own faith too!
All adult leaders and helpers are subject to a CRB check for everyone’s safety. Speak to Kellie Walden if you would like to be involved in this area.
Car parking:
The car park needs to be organized and we hope as you arrive there is a friendly face to make sure you know where to go. You could be that person. Again – no public speaking necessary. Speak to one of the elders if you think you could do this job or sign up here.
First Aid team:
If you have a first aid certificate we’d love you to be available to help out if there is an accident or an illness. We have a rota for people to cover this area. Please speak to one of the elders if you can offer this.
