Help us support people facing hunger this winter by joining us for the UK’s biggest food collection

From the 30th November to 2nd December, we’re hosting a food collection with Tesco as part of the tenth Food Collection.

The Tesco Food Collection is manned by Tesco staff on Thursday 30th November & Worthing Foodbank volunteers on Friday & Saturday 1st & 2nd December. They will hand out shopping lists of tinned and dried goods at Tesco, Durrington store, to encourage customers to buy an extra item of food or two during their shop. Customers can then kindly donate these items to their local foodbank on their way out of the store at a food collection point.

These donations will be used to provide three-days of emergency food to people in crisis. Foodbanks work with frontline professionals to identify people in need and issue them with a foodbank voucher. These include organisations such as children’s centres, housing associations, welfare agencies and community mental health teams.

Following the collection, Tesco generously tops up the customer food donations gifting an extra 20% as a financial contribution to the foodbanks. Every donated item will not only help provide vital food for people experiencing crisis, but gain additional top up funding that will help Trussell Trust foodbanks provide much needed further support.

We are thrilled that Tesco, the UK’s largest supermarket, shares our vision that no one should go hungry, and is working together with The Trussell Trust and FareShare to empower local communities to fight poverty.

Will you join us to help stop UK hunger?

Donate in store: TESCO, DURRINGTON

Our volunteers will be handing out shopping lists during the day, so please consider donating an item or two at your nearest store, to help stop people going hungry in your community.
